7th/8th grades

Travel – Honey Badgers division

Playing in this age division is a great way to get more playing time than the middle school teams and to play against nearby towns in South Jersey. South Jersey Field Hockey league is a competitive travel league of 18 towns in this region. It will really help raise your player’s game by playing for a longer season than the middle schools. Plus, it is great to have the Cherry Hill girls play together in preparation for high school! Players will improve stick skills, learn field strategy, sportsmanship, teamwork.

8 games are played over 6 weeks: 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/16, 10/23. Sundays at the opponent’s field in South Jersey or home at one of the Cherry Hill High Schools. We play games on turf and grass, and will have at least one home game.

There is also a Play for a Cause League tournament over Columbus Day Weekend, 10/8 and 9 at the Gloucester Twp turf fields. Playoffs are the weekend of 10/29 and 30 for the top 8 teams.

Practices start in mid-August at Cherry Hill HS East or West, on Tuesdays and Thursdays TBD.

The registration fee for 7th/8th division is $170 per player. Payment may be made in three installments, registration, 8/1 and 9/1. There is a $20 discount if your player does not need a new uniform!

Included in each registration is a new reversible team pinnie for practices and uniform (new reversible team jersey, skirt, and 2 pairs of socks) for games.

All players will need shin guards, a mouthguard, and cleats (for playing on grass). Sneakers for turf. Eye protection (goggles) is optional for the league, but highly recommended for safety while playing. (It is required for middle school team play, but not for this league.)

Players should have their own stick to play. Girls this age will likely need a 35″- 37″ stick, which is based on player height. HerSport is recommended for helping pick the right stick for your player. The graphic below is also a good guideline:

Registration is held May – July for the fall season. Click over to the Registration page for the link to TeamSnap.
