Travel – Badgers division
This program is a great way to introduce field hockey to your player, improve existing skills, get ready for middle school teams, and to play with Cherry Hill players against nearby towns. South Jersey Field Hockey league is a competitive travel league and will really help to raise your player’s game by playing for a longer season than the middle schools. Players will learn fundamentals of the sport, field positioning, improve stick skills, plus sportsmanship, teamwork, and make new friends around Cherry Hill! There is no tryout for this team!
Regular season games are played over 6 Sundays: 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/13, 10/20. There are 8 games played at the opponent’s field in South Jersey or home at Cherry Hill High School East. We play games on turf and grass, and will have at least one home game.
Practices potentially start August 13th at Cherry Hill HS East, on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8:00 pm.
Playoffs are the weekend of 10/26 and 27 for the top 8 teams.
The registration fee for 5th/6th is $175 per player. Payment can be made in three monthly installments or in full.
Equipment
Included in registration is a new uniform (new reversible team jersey, skirt, and socks) for games and practices.
Players should have their own field hockey stick. Players this age will likely need a 34″ – 36″ stick, depending on height. Stick should be hip height. Visit HerSport in Cherry Hill for help in picking the right stick for your player or use the guideline below:
All players will also need a mouthguard, cleats and shinguards.
Volunteer coaches are highly needed for this age division! Please indicate if you can coach while registering.
Registration is held May – July for the fall season.
