Introduce your K, 1st or 2nd grader to the sport of field hockey! The younger players start, the better they become as they get older with their stick skills and game IQ.
This age group will have an opportunity to learn basic fundamentals of the game during 6 weekly clinics in September and October on Sundays 4:30-5:30 pm at Cherry Hill HS East, wkd after Labor Day – mid October.
The registration fee for this program is $85. Registration is May – September. A late fee of $15 is applied after July 1st.
The South Jersey Field Hockey league hosts a play day at the end of the season, usually end of October after our clinics conclude, for the players to have fun playing in small, quick games against other towns for real-game experience, Usually the 2nd graders attend and it’s for about an hour or two on a Saturday morning.
Equipment
Included in registration is a reversible team pinnie. Please wear to all clinics.
We have field hockey sticks & balls available for player usage, if needed to borrow. In addition, each player should have shin guards, sneakers and a mouth guard. We recommend going to HerSport in Cherry Hill for assistance with purchasing equipment. You can also order a beginner set on longstreth.com for around $50.
Volunteer coaches are highly needed for this age division! Please indicate while registering. Cherry Hill HS West and East players help players will also help out with instruction.
